Arithmetic practice for kids, one problem at a time

Kids Love Math is a free place for children to practice the arithmetic they learn at school: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, written in columns the way they are on paper. It's made for children aged about 6 to 11, roughly 1st to 5th grade.

Pick an operation

How it works

  1. Choose an operation, and how many digits the top and bottom numbers have, from 1 to 5.
  2. Press New problem. The problem appears on squared paper, one digit per square, so ones sit under ones and tens under tens.
  3. Type the answer with the keys on the screen, or with a keyboard.
  4. Press Check. A right answer earns a coin; a wrong one shows the correct answer underneath. Next brings a new problem.

Practice, not lessons

Kids Love Math doesn't teach a method. It gives children a steady supply of problems to practice what they already learned in class, in whatever way their teacher showed them. Practice is what turns a method a child understands into one they can use quickly and without mistakes, and that frees their attention for harder problems.

A calm screen

There's one problem at a time, in large, clear digits drawn for beginning readers. No timers, no flashing animations and no chat. Coins are the only reward: ten coins become a medal, ten medals a star, then come trophies, crowns, gems and planets, just as ten ones make a ten.

The screen has a light and a dark mode, and works on tablets, phones and computers.

Free now, family accounts soon

Practicing is free and needs no sign-up. Coins are kept on the device your child uses. Family accounts, coming soon, will keep each child's progress and let parents follow it.
